THE International Academic Programmes Office (IAPO) will be hosting the Department of Home Affairs from March 4 to 8 in the Kramer Law Building Quad, Middle Campus.
This will enable those international students whose study permits expire between March 30 and June 30, 2002, to renew these permits on Campus.
"This temporary Home Affairs office will make the renewal process a lot easier for students as they can simply come in between lectures, without a trip to the city centre and the hassle of long queues," said IAPO's Jerome September.
"Another big advantage is the fact that the turnover for these renewals will be two weeks as opposed to the usual four to six weeks."
Home Affairs will also renew UCT study permits for a period of up to three years, depending on the duration of the course, for the one-year renewal fee of R1 050. For further information, please contact IAPO at tel 650-2822, or email Jerome September at
