Graduate fare at Open Day draws a crowd

30 September 2002
ABOUT 200 potential candidates for graduate studies visited the Graduate School of Humanities Open Day on September 18.

Staff on the various graduate programmes manned stands and exhibitions, detailing the rich variety of graduate "wares", including a range of interdisciplinary programmes.

The School's Director, Professor John de Gruchy, said he had been delighted by the response to the function, which had been "an experiment that had worked".

"We have yet to assess the event, but judging from the response I think it will become an annual event," he added.

"Those of us who planned it were overwhelmed by the response, both from the Faculty's departments and by the students who came."
