VC takes up the Chancellor's Challenge

Vice-chancellor Professor Njabulo Ndebele has pledged his personal commitment to the Chancellor's Challenge 175.

Ndebele took up the chancellor's call to become part of a new generation of UCT pioneers by donating to the CC175, securing an education for needy students and strengthening UCT's financial stability by growing the general endowment.

Ndebele signed his pledge to donate monthly over the next five years and called on the rest of the UCT community to follow his example. "A number of UCT staff members have already taken up the challenge and I am proud to be one of them. I am honoured to know that my pledge will be making a very direct and personal difference to the life of a UCT student, opening doors of learning and opportunity."
