Athletes on track at junior champs

UCT picked up a handful of medals at the jam-packed WP Junior Championships at Bellville on Saturday, March 4, where about 1 400 athletes vied for honours. UCT stood out in one of the more senior categories, the under-23s. Lance Anders won gold in the 100m, as did Sylma Jordaan in the pole vault. Anders also took bronze in the 200m, with Ian Rogers doing the same in the 800m. In the U20s, UCT's new sprinter, Donna-Lee Adams, stormed her way to silver medals in both the 100m and 200m. In the process, she broke the UCT Junior 100m and 200m women's records, both set by Claire Evans in 2000.
