UCT fencer Jamie Gordon has been selected to represent South Africa at the Commonwealth Fencing Championships, to be held in Belfast from September 20-25. This is Gordon's first time in the green and gold, and his first international competition. Gordon, ranked in the top five in the country, will compete in the sabre event in Northern Ireland. He's been slowly catching the selectors' eyes, especially after he won bronze at the senior nationals in Bloemfontein in early July. He also picked up gold in the sabre and silver in foil for UCT at the SASSU games recently.
