Meadows is vice-president of the International Geographical Union

In service: Prof Mike Meadows will serve as vice-president of the International Geographical Union for six years.

Professor Mike Meadows, head of the Department of Environmental and Geographical Science, is the new vice-president of the International Geographical Union (IGU) following its 31st congress in Tunis in August.

Meadows will serve as vice-president for six years. The IGU is the premier international body of academic geographers, and is affiliated to the International Council of Scientific Unions.
