VC elected as HESA deputy chair

Vice-Chancellor Dr Max Price has been elected as deputy chairperson of Higher Education South Africa (HESA), for the period 1 April 2012 to 31 December 2013. Price, previously an ordinary member of the HESA exco, replaces Professor Irene Moutlana, Vice-Chancellor and Principal at the Vaal University of Technology, as deputy chair. Moutlana's HESA term came to an end on 31 December 2011. HESA is described as "the voice of South Africa's university leadership", and represents the vice-chancellors of the country's 23 public universities.
