In honour of Human Rights Day, the University of Cape Town (UCT) showcases just some of its honorary graduates. These are 17 individuals who have or continue to fight for the protection of human rights in South Africa and abroad. These are rights for which many South Africans lost their lives, including the protesters who were murdered in the 1960 Sharpeville Massacre.
