There will be gadgets galore to explore – and exciting prizes up for grabs – at the UCT Techfest 2019, which runs from 09:00 to 16:00 on 7 and 8 August in the Sarah Baartman Hall.
The University of Cape Town’s (UCT) preferred IT vendors, including Digicape, Pinnacle, Lenovo, Bytes and Electrosonic and others, will show off everything from the latest desktop computers and laptops, to mobile devices and computer peripherals.
They’ll be on hand – with free popcorn – to answer questions and give advice.
You can delve into the 3D world of Virtual Reality with VR headsets from the School of Information Technology, who’ll also be showing off a 3D printer.
Prizes up for grabs (for UCT staff and students only) in lucky draw competitions and giveaways include an iPad, a Lenovo tablet, Skullcandy headphones, cameras, backpacks, flash drives and USB charging ports. Scan your student or staff card at the door to be eligible to win.
There will also be exciting tech and accessories for sale at the event, so come prepared.
If you want to join the exciting line-up of information sessions running in the venue, using Silent Disco technology, make sure you book by emailing icts-training@uct.ac.za because seating is limited.
