The University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Careers Service has been named as a finalist for two South African Graduate Employers Association (SAGEA) Awards, in the “Best Career Fair” and “Best Career Service” categories, for 2019.
The winners of the awards, which celebrate the achievements of South Africa’s leading graduate employers, will be announced at SAGEA’s biennial conference on 6 November in Vanderbijlpark.
UCT Careers Service is the most awarded careers service in South Africa, being consistently recognised for excellence over the past nine years.
In addition to the two shortlisted categories, Careers Service’s Hishamodien Hoosain has been nominated in a new category, the “Best Employer Relations Individual” award. This recognises an individual who has delivered a superior service through liaising and partnering with employers.
“UCT attracts some of the best students and produces some of the most employable graduates, something of which we, as an institution and as a careers service, are tremendously proud,” said Nawaal Boolay, Careers Service acting director.
“We will continue to strive to enhance our offering year on year to our students and our employers,” she said, adding that they are honoured to be nominated again this year.
Finalists for the SAGEA Awards are determined via the most recent Employer Benchmarking and Candidate Insights Surveys, conducted by High Fliers Research Ltd on behalf of SAGEA.
