Unleashing the new global university is a series of virtual events in which we invite innovative, international and local speakers to have challenging conversations that help us rethink global collaborations for a sustainable and equitable planet.
The first part of the conversation on the topic "How virtual can we go?" was hosted and introduced by UCT Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng, on 29 June 2020 and moderated by Professor Kelly Chibale.
In this video Professor Isabel Casimiro and Phil Baty discuss virtual conferencing as a tool to fix patronage, language barriers and other types of inequality.
