Advancing Womxn: Unsettling knowledge on gendered and sexual violence

In celebrating women and their achievements in fields of research, UCT hosted a virtual Women’s Day event, For Womxn by Womxn, on 13 August, affording a platform for researchers who received scholarships launched by Vice Chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng in 2018 for the advancement of women to give feedback about the progression of their projects. In this video, Professor Floretta Boonzaier, a recipient of this grant, discusses her research on ‘Unsettling knowledge on gendered and sexual violence’, while her students give details of their research and how they've been empowered through this initiative.
