South African expatriates such as myself were alarmed and saddened to see the news of the devastating wildfire that destroyed historic buildings at the University of Cape Town as well as irreplaceable African artifacts. Please know that I and my colleagues at Virginia Tech have you, your faculty and staff colleagues, and your students in our thoughts and prayers as you manage and recover from these challenging circumstances.
