Top religious studies students honoured

On 20 August the Religious Studies Department honoured students who "demonstrated excellence" in their studies last year with Class Medals. The winners were Howard Head, Sharika Jaga, Cheryl Joseph, Alice Meyer (who received two medals), Catherine O’Leary, Benjamin Overmeyer and Daniella Scher. Each were top in their undergraduate courses in 2008. Professor of Religious Studies David Chidester told the students that the occasion was to "recognise the greatness in you". It was the first time that the department hosted such an event, and it intends recognising top students in this way every year.
