Gadgets galore at gadget gala
24 November 2009
The techno geeks went weak at the knees while the technophobes gingerly negotiated their way through the iMacs with monitors that could hide large animals, the sleek cameras that resisted water, the calculators that doubled as keyboards, the dinky mouses that either had no wires or else hid them from sight, and the multitude of USB devices that could do everything from digitising video movies to turning your PC into a multi-monitored monster. The occasion was Gadgets Day on 20 November, hosted by Information & Communication Technology Services (ICTS), where retailers could pitch their hi-tech wares to UCT departments. "These little gadgets can help you to function better," summed up ICTS' Margherita Introna, who organises the event.
