Dear colleagues and students
The Curriculum Change Working Group (CCWG) has completed the work it initiated in 2016 and its report, the Curriculum Change Framework, has been released for comment. I believe that engaging with the report is a fundamental step in an institutional dialogue about curriculum and the meanings and practices of curriculum change across disciplines. With this idea in mind, I am inviting individuals and academic units, academics and students to engage with the document.
To make the process inclusive and transparent we have created a webpage where we have uploaded the Curriculum Change Framework for easy access, but also to elicit comments on the report and make them available to the wider community.
View the Curriculum Change Framework feedback page.
I have already requested comments from the faculties and as we receive these comments they will be uploaded on the webpage. Similarly, we will upload any individual comments on the Curriculum Change Framework as we receive them. Please send your comments to Anthea Metcalfe (Anthea.Metcalfe@uct.ac.za).
The purpose of this exercise is to collate all comments and debates and prepare a response to the document, which will be discussed at Senate in 2019. The webpage will be active to receive your comments, and your comments on comments, until the end of 2018.
Many thanks for your participation.
Kind regards
Associate Professor Lis Lange
Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching and Learning
