A team of research scientists from UCT and Nelson Mandela University (NMU) has arrived back in Cape Town after a pioneering expedition to one of the coldest, harshest and most remote locations in the world, the Weddell Sea off Antarctica.
The scientists joined a group of international scientists on the expedition. The voyage was conducted from the South African polar research vessel, the SA Agulhas II.
