In remembrance: Delaine Nolene Williams

Dear students and colleagues

We are filled with a deep sense of sadness as we announce the passing of our colleague, Ms Delaine Nolene Williams (51), who was employed as a creditors clerk in the Finance Department. Ms Williams died at Groote Schuur Hospital on Sunday evening, 4 October 2020, after a short illness.

Ms Williams started working at the Foreign Purchasing and Payments area of the Procurement and Purchasing Services section in the Finance Department in 2017. Colleagues will remember her as a quiet and pleasant team member who always had her head down working. Her hardworking nature will be missed.

She is survived by her parents, Eileen and Gene, and two daughters, Conita and Jamie Lee. Ms Williams’ funeral service will take place on Saturday, 10 October in Wynberg.

We have reached out to offer support to the Williams family, and we convey our heartfelt condolences to her friends and all who knew her. We are keeping them in our thoughts at this difficult time.
