Kaizer Motaung, founder of the renowned Kaizer Chiefs Football Club received an honorary doctorate on Friday, 22 July during the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) first live and in person PhD graduation ceremony since the start of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Motaung played a crucial role in the establishment of the South African Premier Soccer League. His contributions have impacted positively in the lives of ordinary South Africans for whom Kaizer Chiefs symbolises hope, dignity and togetherness.
