University of Cape Town (UCT) student Kai Goodall is on a mission to use his passion for engineering to create social innovation projects that will benefit society in South Africa and beyond.

The final-year master’s student in Electrical Engineering has been awarded numerous accolades for his social innovation projects that he either created on his own or in collaboration with a team of engineers called NextGen Engineers at UCT. Some of the projects include: the Pedal n Spin foot-powered washing machine, a 3D printed greywater filter and a practical electronics kit for university students in order to increase their innovation at home.
