In remembrance: Enver February

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our colleague Mr Enver February (52), who served as a cleaner at Hiddingh campus. He passed away on Monday, 17 July 2023 after being admitted to Groote Schuur Hospital following a short illness.
Mr February joined Campus Cleaning Services at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in July 2016.
He was known by his colleagues as a jovial and a fun-loving person. He would tease, play jokes, and always put a smile on his colleagues’ faces whenever he picked up that they were down. Colleagues say it has been a great pleasure working with him and that he had that special character that would last for a lifetime.
Mr February is survived by his son and daughter in-law, two grandchildren, his aunt, and his siblings.
A memorial service was held on Friday, 21 July 2023 at Beattie Lecture Theatre on upper campus and his funeral followed on Sunday, 23 July 2023.
The university has reached out to offer support to the February family, and during this time of bereavement our sincere condolences go out to them and all who knew and loved him.
