In remembrance: Sedzani Mungomeni

It is with sadness that we inform you of the passing of our student, Mr Sedzani Mungomeni (20), a Bachelor of Social Science (BSocSc) fourth-year student, on the evening of Thursday, 24 August 2023. He passed away following a road accident in Observatory.
Mr Mungomeni enrolled for the BSocSc four-year programme, majoring in sociology and psychology, at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2020.
He will be remembered as someone who was loving and showed respect for others. His peers will remember him for his selfless nature, demonstrated by how often he would put others first. He was known in his circles as the most respectful person.
Mr Mungomeni is survived by his mother Rendani Mungomeni; his father Takalani Happy Madzivhandila; as well as two siblings, Mudzunga Mungomeni and Kharendwe Mungomeni. He was laid to rest on Saturday, 2 September 2023 in Nzhelele, Limpopo.
The university has reached out to offer support to the Mungomeni family during this time of bereavement. We convey our sincere condolences to the family and all who knew and loved Mr Mungomeni.
