Dear colleagues and students
The third session in the “Transformation: A Humanising Praxis Think Tank Series”, hosted by Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Transformation, Student Affairs and Social Responsiveness Professor Elelwani Ramugondo, will take place on Wednesday, 1 November 2023.
The session will be addressed by Dr Athambile Masola and Anelile Dlamini-Gibixego, who will present on “Transformation in the trade publishing sector in South Africa, in Arts Development and Democracy Project”.
Dr Masola is a writer, researcher and poet. She teaches in the Department of Historical Studies at the University of Cape Town. Her research work focuses on black women’s historiography with a particular interest in life writing. She is also interested in the African language newspapers of the early 20th century; and has published in a variety of platforms and publications.
Dlamini-Gibixego, an author and scientist, is currently an African Water Resource Mobility Network scholar at Rhodes University. As a researcher, she has been with the Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection for six years as an assistant researcher. Through that period, she has been involved in a number of projects in the knowledge economy and scientific advancement faculty.
