November salaries payment delays resolved

The University of Cape Town (UCT) is pleased to confirm that the unforeseen technical glitches around the payment of the November 2023 salaries have been resolved as speedily as possible.
The issue resulted in staff salaries not being paid as planned on the morning of Friday, 24 November 2023.
The Human Resources (HR) department immediately attended to this issue with the utmost urgency since the very early hours of Friday, with a clear intention to resolve the matter on the same day.
The matter has now been resolved, and salaries have been paid to all staff.
Preliminary investigations have indicated a possible factor behind the technical mishap. However, a further investigation will be carried out to determine the exact circumstances and any remedial measures required.
UCT acknowledges and appreciates the patience by staff while the HR department worked tirelessly on resolving the issue; and reiterates profuse apologies for the inconvenience caused.
