Arrangements related to Cape Town weather

Dear colleagues and students

Your safety and wellbeing at the University of Cape Town (UCT) is a top priority. Management encourages all staff and students to prioritise their personal safety and to take necessary precautions this week.

Teaching and learning

Please note that teaching and learning will continue in person. However, if you are unable to attend lectures in person due to the extreme and wet weather conditions do communicate this to your course conveners. Faculties will deal with any special cases on an individual basis and on their own merits.

Working arrangements

UCT understands that some staff may be unable to travel to work due to transportation and/or road access challenges. Please communicate your specific circumstances with your manager to make appropriate arrangements. Remote work arrangements will be supported for those who are unable to travel to the office due to weather-related issues.
