Update regarding Table Mountain fires

Dear colleagues and students

As many of you might be aware, fires are currently burning in the Table Mountain National Park. At this stage, the fires have not affected the University of Cape Town (UCT) Upper Campus, nor do they pose any threat to the university. The Properties and Services Department (P&S) is closely monitoring the situation, and will keep the university community updated, should conditions change.

P&S is working closely with all relevant stakeholders, including the Department of Student Affairs, South African National Parks and the City of Cape Town to monitor and support the fire-fighting efforts. UCT will continue to do everything possible to ensure the safety of staff and students.
