UCT introduces new short course, Designing with AI

The Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) in the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHED) is excited to announce the launch of a new short course, Designing with AI. This six-week online course is designed to equip lecturers, teaching staff and learning designers with the skills to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their teaching, learning and research practices.

As AI continues to revolutionise various industries, the Designing with AI course offers participants an opportunity to stay ahead of the curve. Participants will explore the history and affordances of generative AI, learn to apply AI tools in diverse teaching contexts, and reflect on ethical practices in AI engagement.

Duration: 10 September–20 October 2024
Mode: Fully online, with interactive webinars and coaching sessions
Cost: R5 000

This course is not only about understanding AI, but about practically integrating it into teaching and learning practices. The focus is on co-creation and real-world applications, ensuring that participants can immediately apply what they learn.

The Designing with AI course is part of the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) commitment to advancing education through innovative solutions.
