In celebration of Heritage Month, University of Cape Town(UCT) students from diverse cultural backgrounds offered a unique glimpse into their identities and the rich heritage they carry.

Students share candidly about their ethnic backgrounds, languages, and the traditions that define their sense of belonging. Whether identifying as ỌmọYorùbá, Han Chinese, or Babirwa, each student’s experience contributes to UCT’s vibrant multicultural community.

The students’ stories highlight the complexity and pride of their origins, from Nigeria and Zimbabwe to China, Mauritius, and Botswana. Their narratives reflect the diversity that enriches UCT, fostering an inclusive environment where cultural identities from across the globe thrive.
