The University of Cape Town’s (UCT) 57th TB Davie Memorial Lecture was presented by Prof Sakhela Buhlungu, professor of sociology and current vice-chancellor of the University of Fort Hare.
The lecture titled: “Academic Freedom and Institutional Autonomy: A View from the Tyhume Valley”, focused on four propositions about academic freedom and institutional autonomy in the current conjuncture in South Africa.
