With the academic year having run later than usual, the UCT Annual Retirees Dinner on 24 November moved from stately Smuts Hall to the neighbouring Western Province Rugby Club at Newlands.
At the event, 75 of 2016's 120 retirees were celebrated for their wisdom, commitment and expertise − and their combined total of 5 588 years of service to the university.
Among the retirees toasted by Vice-Chancellor Dr Max Price were Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Danie Visser and Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Anwar Mall.
Reinette Popplestone, Director of UCT's Disability Service, responded to the VC's toast on behalf of the retirees.
