The Lung Institute’s Knowledge Translation Unit (KTU) will hold an open day on 12 September to showcase their Practical Approach to Care Kit (PACK), the work it supports and the people involved. It will be held in partnership with the Western Cape Department of Health.

The PACK programme tackles health systems issues so that primary care practitioners can provide evidence-based care that is policy aligned and appropriate to their setting. PACK was developed by the KTU and is being implemented in South Africa, Brazil and Nigeria in collaboration with the British Medical Journal and local role players.

The open day is a satellite session to the Global Evidence Summit and will feature presentations on the unit’s development work and implementation research. There will be displays showcasing the programme’s training and health systems component.

Visitors can participate in PACK interactive training sessions and meet the programme’s developers, implementers and researchers.
