Students from across UCT have held a peaceful protest in solidarity with the trans community.
Organised by Rainbow UCT, the march highlighted the recent stockouts of Depo-testosterone, a hormone replacement therapy used by transgender people who are medically transitioning from female to male. The injections have to be consistent and taken for the rest of one's life. Pharmaceutical company, Pfizer says the supplies of the product have now been restored in most pharmacies. Protesters say they want to ensure that the stockout- which lasted nearly two months - doesen't happen again.
