Cameron Jayden le Roux (2002–2024)

University of Cape Town (UCT) graduate Mr Cameron Jayden le Roux, who was due to be capped in the September 2024 graduation season, has sadly passed on.

Mr Le Roux passed away a week before graduation, on Monday, 26 August 2024. He would have graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the Faculty of Commerce ceremony held on Monday, 2 September 2024. He specialised in Financial Accounting: Chartered Accounting for his degree.

Mr Le Roux was born on 26 June 2002 in Roodepoort, Gauteng.

He began his academic journey at UCT in 2021 and, having completed his undergraduate studies in 2023, he was scheduled to be among the latest cohort of commerce graduates in the September 2024 graduation season.

Mr Le Roux had been working for one of the country’s top auditing companies, PricewaterhouseCoopers in Robertson, Western Cape. He joined the team officially in July 2024, having done holiday work for them throughout his studies. The fact that he had worked for one of the biggest firms in auditing is illustrative of both the calibre of graduate Mr Le Roux was, as well as his capabilities and excellence in the work he did.

Mr Le Roux has been described as an altruistic person. He considered the needs of those around him and ensured that everyone was cared for. He will be remembered for his sense of humour and kindness. He worked very hard at the things that were important to him. He was cherished immensely by his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents Laura and David; and siblings Kiara, Jack and Emma.

The family has organised a small funeral service to be attended by family only.
