Applications are open for this year’s intake for the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Financial Innovation Hub’s (FinHub) nine-month pre-incubator programme, the GenesisBloc Launchpad. The hub designed this ground-breaking initiative to nurture aspiring entrepreneurs by transforming innovative financial technology concepts into thriving businesses.
This year’s programme will run from 21 March to 14 December.
GenesisBloc provides a unique launchpad for start-ups, igniting the flames of innovation and entrepreneurship. Its space on the UCT campus is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurial exploration beyond traditional academic settings. This incubator creates forums for idea exchange, connecting students with start-ups, experts, mentors, and collaborators.
“Start-ups and youth entrepreneurship are key to addressing the chronically high levels of unemployment in our country. We want to encourage students to become entrepreneurs, and the GenesisBloc launchpad is the perfect platform to nurture aspiring entrepreneurs at UCT,” said academic director at UCT’s FinHub, Dr Allan Davids.
