Calling all UCT students who earn money from their own businesses or project. Five finalists will be taken overseas in the ABSA Top Entrepreneur Competition. The winner will receive R5 000 and the tertiary institution with the most qualifying entries also scoops R5000.
ABSA, the Greater Johannesburg Business Chamber and Lufthansa Airlines have joined forces to promote and encourage entrepreneurship among the youth. "The key to economic growth in South Africa is entrepreneurship," said Theo van Wyk, chairperson of the Greater Johannesburg Business Chamber.
"Entrepreneurship gives rise to new enterprises and creates more job opportunities, which are essential for prosperity in South Africa.
Entry forms are available from the Student Representative Council, in the Sake-Rapport supplement of Rapport as well as at ABSA branches (the web address is:
www.absa.co.za).
