Vice-Chancellor Professor Njabulo Ndebele has called for nominations for the inaugural UCT Fellows 2005 awards aimed at acknowledging outstanding scholarly work by young academics.
A maximum of six awards will be made each year to academics (under 40 years old) who have made a significant independent contribution to research in their field.
The committee to select the Fellows Award will consist of current UCT Fellows who represent a broad range of academic disciplines and will be chaired by Deputy Vice-Chancellor for research and innovation Associate Professor Cheryl de la Rey.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Njabulo Ndebele will award the prize at the annual Fellows Dinner in October.
