How to find things at Lost & Found

The Lost & Found Property Office falls under the control of the Security Systems Administration, and is based in the basement of the Robert Leslie Social Science Building. It is a storage for all goods handed in by members of the university community who may have found an item that does not belong to them. They would normally hand the item over to any one of the Campus Protection Services offices around campus. The item is then entered into a database with as many details as possible. Every attempt is made to locate the owner where that person's details are known. Otherwise, it is kept in safekeeping for a period of three months. If after the three months there is no claimant for the property, the goods are disposed of, either by being sold at a reduced price, or, if the item is not worth selling, it is either donated to some worthy cause or it is dumped. For more information, please contact the Lost & Found Property Office at tel 650 3030 or 650 4357.
