The University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Year in Review 2022 reflects on the institution’s challenges and victories – showcasing the university’s continued works of excellence, transformation and social responsiveness.
In 2022, UCT was noted as one of the top three B-BBEE compliant universities in South Africa; and retained its position as the top university in Africa and one of the best globally as staff and students continued to excel in various fields. The year 2022 also marked the 1st anniversary of the devastating Table Mountain fire, which damaged some UCT facilities, including the beloved Jagger Library.
