Members of the UCT Employees' Union (UCTEU) have nominated their candidates and cast their ballots, and at the body's AGM on April 24 got to meet their new-look executive committee, albeit featuring many "old faces".
Vicki Scholtz (Humanities) was elected to a second term as president, while Quinton Timmes (Treasury) was also chosen to continue in his capacity as vice-president. Treasurer Glen Anderson (Treasury) was another asked to extend his tenure.
The one new entry for the 2003/2004 committee is Jody Cedras of the Institutional Planning Department, who with troupers Linda Haynes (Humanities), Andrea Plos (Zoology) and Liz Utting (System Support) round off the UCTEU's executive fold. Support, as always, is provided by union organiser Yasmin Fazel-Ellahi, administrative secretary Lungiswa Mabalane and labour consultant Taffy Roberts.
