Notwithstanding the spate of public holidays knit clumsily into the Easter campus break, the five-a-side indoor soccer got off to a reasonably smooth start last week as teams continued to vie for the premier, first and second division titles on offer this year. Here, Alan Williams (in blue shorts) of Bravefart fends off a tackle by Classics' Francois Rousseau in their division one showdown. Classics took an early lead through a goal by Fuad Mahomed, but Bravefart came back strongly in the second half, and strikes by Anthias Karatzas (two in the space of a helter-skelter 15 seconds) and Jacob Gordon saw them win the game 3-1. The five-a-side challenge takes place every day, games kick off at 13h00.
