Students scoop top IT awards

UCT students Eugene Golovins and Keoikantse Marungwana have won two of the three Best Paper Awards at the Southern African Telecommunication Networks and Applications Conference in Swaziland. Golovins is a doctoral student and Marungwana is doing his master’s, both of the Communications Research Group in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Golovins work examines the performance of a low-complexity detection technique for future transceivers. Marungwana’s paper was titled Presence and Real Time Streaming Protocol for Feature-rich Session Continuity in the IP Multimedia Subsystem.
