UCT gives website a makeover

25 April 2006

The Communications and Marketing Department has started a process to redevelop the UCT website.

The current site has been online since October 2002. Since then, there have been a number of small changes to its design and some additions to the content, but no large-scale redevelopments.

The redevelopment process will be an open one with the opportunity for any member of the UCT community to give input.

We are therefore inviting you to attend one of two open meetings where we will discuss the current UCT website and the way forward. The meetings will be on April 26 and May 3 at 10h00 at the Communication and Marketing Department's offices at Welgelegen.

These will be the first in a series of monthly open meetings on the new website.

Since the information architecture and site content are the most important aspects, we are especially interested in what improvements and additions can be made in that area. It is imperative that our website has relevant and up-to-date information for both current and prospective students, alumni, donors, the media and all our external stakeholders.

We would also like to invite you to complete an online survey to give your impressions of the current site and what you would like to see improved or added to the new one. The survey can be accessed at http://www.uct.ac.za/sitesurvey/. All feedback will be collated and taken into consideration.

Please contact Skye Grove at with any queries and to confirm your attendance at the open meetings.
