In a boost for jazz in Cape Town, two internationally acclaimed artists, South African trumpeter Feya Faku and Dutch jazz pianist Jack van Poll, will perform at the Baxter Concert Hall on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 February. Faku's quintet features Buddy Wells (sax), Andre Petersen (piano), Chantal Willie (double bass) and Ayanda Sikade (drums). Van Poll's trio will feature Basil Moses (double bass) and Kevin Gibson (drums). Top South African jazz vocal group Demaj (Mandisa Bardill, Melanie Scholtz, Chantal Willie and Denay Willie) will guest with the Van Poll Trio on 22 February. On 23 February, Van Poll will feature the Cape jazz legend Winston Mankunku (sax), as well as the accomplished jazz pianist Andre Petersen, who will join Van Poll in a two-piano performance.
