The National Astrophysics and Space Science Programme celebrated its fifth year of operation on 23 November with the presentations of research projects by honours students.
The programme, which offers postgraduate studies in astrophysics and space science, has produced over 50 graduates since it was established in 2002.
According to Professor Peter Dunsby, programme coordinator, many students have continued, doing master's and doctoral degrees. So far 22 have either completed or are in the process of doing doctoral programmes, 29 have completed or are expected to finish their master's and 13 are expected to graduate with honours this year. Students need to be able to research projects and acquire communication and presentation skills.
