23 July 2021 | Words Staff writer. Photos Lerato Maduna, Je’nine May.The University of Cape Town (UCT) recently celebrated the 2021 mid-year graduation ceremonies, from 12 to 19 July. While the ceremonies took place online, UCT graduates and their families had the opportunity to take photographs with Vice-Chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng. Lerato Maduna and Je'nine May were there to capture the PhD graduates from the faculties of Law and Science on 16 and 19 July.

Graduation July 2021
We understand the disappointment that our students and their families feel about the impact that the global pandemic has had on the normal operations for graduation ceremonies. Please know that the decision to host virtual graduation events was not taken lightly. We congratulate the July 2021 graduands on their academic success during exceptionally challenging times.
