Since 1959, UCT has held an annual TB Davie Memorial Lecture to mark the University's commitment to academic freedom and to clarify its principles. Accordingly, UCT staff and students are invited to submit nominations for the 2011 TB Davie Memorial Lecture to the Academic Freedom Committee. Nominations should not exceed three pages and should include:

• a brief curriculum vitae of the nominated speaker; and
• a motivation for the nomination.

Nominations should be submitted via email to Vicki Heard, or posted to Room 139.1, Bremner Building, Lower Campus, UCT, on or before Friday 30 April 2010.
