On Thursday, 20 October, the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Office for Inclusivity & Change (OIC) hosted an appreciation dinner at the Protea Hotel Mowbray for student peer educators and volunteers who help the OIC deliver UCT’s transformation agenda. Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Transformation, Student Affairs and Social Responsiveness Professor Elelwani Ramugondo said the volunteers have reflected qualities that the university anticipates all UCT students will leave with when they graduate.
“It is important to acknowledge that your volunteerism and participation in leading and supporting inclusion at UCT is integral to UCT achieving Vision 2030 – and most importantly, your contribution has enabled transformation,” Professor Ramugondo said.
