ICTS have moved from upper campus to a new location close to Shoprite on Main Road, Mowbray. The old ICTS building has now been taken over by Computer Science. The move, which took place during the mid-year holidays, was motivated by a drive to move a non-academic department off upper campus. "Space on upper campus is limited," said Briers. "There's not much left in the form of big non-academic departments on upper campus." The buildings were bought by UCT in 2009 for R22 million and have been refurbished and refitted at a total project cost of R13 million.
