MBA classes raise a glass for school

04 March 2010

The 2009 full-time MBA class at the Graduate School of Business (GSB) handed over R10 000 to the Masibambane Secondary School recently, money that will be used to kick-start a bursary programme at the Kraaifontein institution. "It has been a dream [of Masibambane] to develop a bursary programme whereby learners are rewarded with free tuition if they excel in their academics, and this money will make that dream possible," said Methuli Mbanjwa, a member of the MBA class' social responsibility committee. The class raised the money by charging staff and students at the GSB an entry fee to make their own wines in the GSB's Wine Blending Competition. The winning blend was named the official 2009 MBA wine. In picture, school principal, Rajan Naidoo, and three learners receive uniforms and bursary cheques from Mbanjwa.
