For the first time since 2019, the University of Cape Town (UCT) Careers Service advertised more than 480 student and graduate opportunities between January and July. This is a strong indication that the graduate job market is strengthening since COVID-19 took a toll on the recruitment of young talent.
This positive upturn will be evident at the Careers Service’s flagship recruitment event for UCT students: the Epic Job Expo. Over 80 organisations will attend and have 3 400 opportunities on offer, including bursaries, internships, graduate programmes, and full-time jobs.
The Epic Job Expo is an opportunity for students at all levels of study to see what is on offer in the world of work, network with future employers or visit the all-day CV Lab.
Attendees can make the most of the experience by using the available resources to prepare for the event. Students who are still exploring career options should take note of the Careers Service’s expo tips. Students who will use the expo to hunt for a job or bursary will find the applications resource useful.
